COACHING SERVICES
Do you have a book in you that wants out but you don’t know where to start? Or maybe you have a rough outline and you need motivation and accountability (and feedback!) to get it finished. Perhaps you’re looking for help with a writing plan. Writing coaching might be the perfect route for you. A coach is one part teacher and one part mentor, with the ability to tailor a program to your specific needs.
My coaching may include a combination of email communication, zoom calls, review and critique of outlines, chapters, and synopses. We can do plot or narrative arc brainstorming; mini-lessons to help you cement your craft; creating or finding resources to support your project and much more.
Writing coaching is a process of brainstorming, editing and accountability to get your work done. From drumming up ideas to helping you edit and polish, I tailor my coaching to your individual needs.
Coaching requires a minimum purchase of two coaching hours at $100/hr. Larger packages of hours come with a discount.

Pricing and FAQs
-
What kind of editing do I need?
- It is my experience that most people who think they want a copy-edit (corrections and style fixes) actually want a developmental edit or a critique–getting comprehensive comments on the big picture issues of the story. You are ready for a copy-edit when you are DONE making changes to your story, scenes, and character development and are ready to submit your manuscript somewhere or publish it. The copy-edit is the LAST stage of editing.
-
What is your editing turnaround time?
- I’m often booked out a month or more. I ask for a non-refundable $300 deposit on a project to guarantee a time slot. (That will go back into your edit fee, of course).
- On average, a full length manuscript, of 300-400 pages will take 3-4 weeks for a critique and 4-6 weeks for a developmental edit with line edits.
-
What types of work do you edit?
- Novels of all genres
- Memoirs
- Non-fiction books
- Non-fiction book proposals
- Essays and short stories
